And on that note, this is the first piece of an email I just got from my (slightly confused) alma mater.
Dear Student:
The New York State Department of Education anticipates that candidates applying for initial teaching certification on or after May 1st, 2014 will be required to take certain new exams.
Glad I did this when I did. NY folks, if you haven’t heard this from your institutions yet I’d check on it.
