So there comes a point in the day where I just don’t want to wear my Tims anymore. They’re heavy, they’re hot, and they make my feet hurt. I mean, they’re AWESOME. But eventually I am ready to go home.
So I go home and the day is long and I feel like I’m dragging as I clunk up the stairs.
And then I take my Tims off, followed quickly by my pants, and I just feel so light and energetic.
When I did City Year, I went through cheapo inserts in those Tims every other week, I’m not even kidding. Inserts are essential. Someone in our corps once clocked themselves at around 10,000 steps over the course of the work day, including the after-school program.
That’s about five miles.
That wasn’t even a day that included PT.
I’m not actually sure which is worse on the feet: working in the Tims with City Year, or working in other school positions in heels (which added some desperately-needed height).
Tell us your shoe size and I know at least two people who will start stocking you with inserts.
